The Rare Book Hub (formerly known as Americana Exchange ) is a website for the purchase, sale and collection of rare and antique books. Founded in 2002 in San Francisco by rare book collector Bruce McKinney with the intention of offering a hard to find information on collecting books to the public. From the beginning of providing a subscription database of bibliographic records, the company now offers many related services, mostly for no cost. The company was originally specialized in the Americana textbook, but quickly expanded to all kinds of antique and rare books, ephemera, manuscripts, prints, photographs and other paperwork.

Basis Data Buku
The company's first product, AE Database includes a list taken from bibliographic books and book auction records. Instead of displaying scanned pages from bibliographic books, such as those used by sites such as Google Book Search, records are inserted into many independently searched fields, such as authors, titles and dates, to facilitate data retrieval. Starting from 151,000 lists in 2002, the database now contains over 5 million records, most of which include prices. Book sales results from approximately 150 auction houses around the world are added as soon as the auction takes place.

Book Auction Search
Since the company has searched and compiled a list of book auctions for its database, in 2004 it launched a site search engine for book auction listings. This metasearch engine compiles lists before the auction takes place, allowing users to search the list of books from worldwide auctions in seconds. Currently, the only other way to find books in an auction before a sale is to search each list of auction houses separately.
Books For Sale
In 2006, the company added an online book listing service known as "Books for Sale." Book sellers include their books in the Books For Sale database, which can be searched on the site or through major search engines, including Google Product Search. A similar used book list is available through websites such as Amazon.com, AbeBooks, Biblio.com, and Alibris. However, different from these sites, sales are not done on the Americana Stock website. Buyers are sent directly to bookseller list via email form. Bookeller lists pay $ 425 per year to create their book lists and gain access to other services such as book databases. Because sales are completed by the bookseller rather than on the Rare Book Hub website, no commissions are charged.
MatchMaker
The company offers a book search service called "MatchMaker." It performs automated book searches every day. The searches are conducted at Books For Sale, eBay, and a list of 150 auction houses followed by Rare Book Hub. A new listing match is provided daily so buyers can find it before the auction is complete or the book is sold.
Rare Book Monthly
Rare Monthly Book is an online magazine for book collectors, librarians and people in book trading. It features articles on the collection and sale of books, book auctions, and similar topics, along with general news and book related features. The second part of the Rare Month Book contains the latest shopping book catalog reviews, while the third contains links to electronic catalogs. Archives from past articles are available.
