Light Motion Dance Company is a Seattle-based two-woman dance company, combining wheelchair dancers and able-bodied dancers in the show.

Overview
Light Motion Dance Company was founded in 1988. The creative strength behind the company is Charlene Curtiss and Joanne Petroff. The show features choreography and improvisational dance. Dance Tour of Light Motion across the United States and internationally. Workshops for schoolchildren and adults are also part of the Light Motion Dance initiative. The show featured Curtiss's choreography, which developed the front wheelchair maneuver through his own experiments and exercises. The show has been described as "virtuoso".
Charlene Curtiss started using a wheelchair after a gym accident resulting in her being paralyzed at the age of 17 (Curtiss has T12 paraplegia). He became a lawyer, but his interest in wheelchair dance caused him to abandon the law, and formed the Dance Movement Company Dance. In 1990, Curtiss added the able-bodied dancer Joanne Petroff to the company. Curtiss has several years experience as a college competitive competitive swimmer, and as a wheelchair athlete in track and field competitions. He also occasionally provides wheelchair aerobic training and front seat control techniques for inpatients and outpatients at the University of Washington Medical Center.
In addition to work performance, Light Motion Dance Company has assisted in the formation of other integrated dance companies in the United States and around the world.
