The lamp lights (English English), light fitting (English English), or luminaire are electrical devices that contain electric lights that illuminate. All lights have a body fixture and one or more lamps. The lamp may be in the socket for easy replacement - or, in the case of some LED fixtures, programmed in place.
The equipment may also have a switch to control the light, either attached to the lamp body or attached to the power cord. Permanent fixtures, such as dining room hanging lamps, may not have a switch on the fix itself, but are dependent on a wall switch.
