CES MMA (Classic Entertainment & Sport) is a mixed martial arts promotion company based in Providence, Rhode Island founded by boxing promoter Jimmy Burchfield Sr. It promotes the first professional mixed martial event unveiled in the state of Rhode Island on September 17, 2010, at Twin River Casino.
From the beginning, CES MMA has been promoting and developing the careers of some of today's and previous Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC) competitors, including Chuck O'Neil, Tateki Matsuda, Charles Rosa, Alex Karalexis, Thomas Egan, Dominique Steele, Rob Font and Ricardo Funch.
Other UFC veterans to appear on MMA CES cards include David Loiseau and Drew Fickett. Several CES MMA alumni have also made the transition to the MMA Bellator, especially Brennan Ward, who won his first three professional fights under the guidance of CES MMA before winning the Bellator midsize tournament in 2013.
In October 2012, CES MMA promoted the first pay-per-view event at Dunkin 'Donuts Center in Providence, featuring the professional MMA debut of WWE wrestler Dave Bautista, before signing a multi-year broadcasting deal with AXS TV in September 2014.

Initial Event
CES MMA held its first event on September 17, 2010, at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island, the nation's first professional mixed martial art event. The card features seven fights, including major events between the original Rhode Island and former World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) and Reality Fighting vet Mike Campbell and Magno Almeida from Woburn, Massachusetts. Almeida won by filming a naked choke in the 4: 3 section in the opening round.
Titled "First Blood," CES MMA's inaugural event also featured debuts from CES MMA final appearances, Luis Felix, Pete Jeffrey and Saul Almeida. Also on the bottom card, heavyweight Parker Porter beat Lee Beane with a first round surrender (behind naked chokes) and Rhode Island veterinarian Mat Santos won a farewell contest after a four-year layoff by beating Stephen Stengel through a kneoper submission in the opening round.

Initial success
After its inaugural event, CES MMA successfully promoted seven events between 2010 and 2011, including its debut at Foxwoods Resort Casino on October 22, 2010. The show featured a major re-match event between the original Felix and Massachusetts Joe DeChaves, who also fought in the bottom card "First Blood "the previous month. CES MMA made headlines in 2011 with the signing of former UFC and WEC physician Alex Karalexis, a native of Boston, Massachusetts. Karalexis made his CES MMA debut June 10, 2011, on the Twin River and missed a controversial split decision to Howard at the main event.
Later that year the promotions crowned the first champion on the Nov. 18 event, entitled "Undeniable." Pawtucket, veteran of Rhode Island, Todd Chattelle won the promotional middle-class championship by defeating the original native Brett Oteri through guillotine choke in the opening round of five scheduled bouts of play.
Having established itself as the most prolific promotional company in New England, CES MMA was eventually crowned as the MMA Boston Herald Local Promotion of the Year in 2011. Patrick Sullivan won Best Matchmaker and a June 10 event featuring the main Karalexis-Howard event crowned as a local card best of the year. After finishing 4-0 in 2011 and winning the MMA CES middle class title, Chattelle won the Herald Comeback Fighter of the Year award. CES MMA also announced three additional players in 2011, including Chattelle, Saul Almeida and Scott Rehm from Boston.
Pay-per-view Debut
On October 6, 2012, CES MMA promoted its first pay-per-view event related to June Entertainment at Dunkin 'Donuts Center, featuring MMA Dave Bautista's debut. The event, titled "Real Pain," is available through DirecTV and features 13 fights, including former UFC rivals Loiseau, Howard and Stevens.
Bautista made quick work of his opponent, Vince Lucero, getting a knockout victory at the 4:03 mark of the opening round due to an unanswered blow. The native of Boston, Howard, who previously won the MMA CES middle class championship by beating Chattelle in April in the CES MMA debut, defeated Brett Chism through a second-round knockout on the bottom card for his third consecutive victory with CES MMA. Chattelle suffered his second consecutive loss of just 27 seconds into his fight with Chandler Holderness due to KO off knee flying while Felix defeated Stevens with a unanimous decision.
Campbell grabbed unanimous victory over Philadelphia, Virginia vet Gemiyale Adkins and Loiseau stopped Chris McNally through a knockout in the first half at the 2.30 mark. Ward made his final appearance with CES MMA on the bottom card, defeating Shedrick Goodridge by KO 2:36 into the opening round.
Championship expansion
CES MMA kicked off 2013 by introducing its second title, a lightweight CES MMA championship. Campbell won the crown on February 1, 2013, on the Twin River by defeating former Olympic boxers Spain and Barcelona, ​​Abner Lloveras native of Spain with a unanimous decision. That would be the final fight of Campbell's career. Titled "Undeniable 2," 'the card is a sequel to the CES MMA "Undeniable" event in 2011 in which Chattelle won a promotional middle class championship.

With four events already in the books for 2013, CES MMA closed the year at Twin River with the 20th show, titled, "CES MMA XX." This marked the first time CES MMA began counting events in chronological order.
"CES MMA XX" featured 10 fights. Font defeated Matt DiMarcantonio with a unanimous decision on the main event. Woonsocket, Rhode Island class bull Andre Soukhamthath won the seventh consecutive bout under the guidance of CES MMA on the bottom card by beating Corey Simmons through the first round of TKO. Soukhamthath also tied Chattelle as a championship-winning fighter with seven wins. Rebello, Felix, Rosa and Oteri also win at the bottom card.
AXS TV Debut
CES MMA introduced its fourth championship on March 14, 2014, on the Twin River when Boston heavyweight John Johnston defeated former UFC challenger Josh Hendricks with a blow at 4.36 mark in the opening round due to excessive blows.
The heavyweight fight is a co-feature of "CES MMA XXII," also important for Fickett's first and last appearance with CES MMA. The old UFC veteran challenged Felix, who won the biggest victory of his career by beating Fickett with a head kick at 2:29 in the opening round.
On August 8, 2014, at Twin River, CES MMA made its long-awaited AXS TV debut with "CES MMA XXV." CES MMA celebrates its 30th show on August 14, 2015 with "CES MMA XXX" on Twin River. The main event featured a long-awaited re-match between Lane and Felix for the lightweight CES MMA Lane title. This time, Felix won by a unanimous decision, 49-46, 49-46, 48-47, to clinch the title and become the third lightweight promotional champion.
