World of Motion , sponsored by General Motors, is a former tenant of the Transportation pavilion at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort. This was the opening day attraction at the EPCOT Center in 1982 and closed in 1996 to give way to Test Track, a thrilling new vehicle through the GM testing facility. Visitors will ride vehicles carrying four to six Omnimover vehicles, and will be taken through scenes filled with Audio-Animatronic numbers as well as projection effects. It is a strange view on history and achievements in transportation, which shows scenes from the invention of the wheel to the present day and beyond.

Grand finals of attraction seek to predict a real future for transportation, with CenterCore, a sparkling metropolis that seems to be moving constantly, and the illusion of Ghost Pepper put guests into futuristic vehicles. At the conclusion of the trip, visitors take to TransCenter, an interactive area about new products under development by GM.

World of Motion closed in 1996. GM continues to sponsor in the substitute attraction of World of Motion, Test Track, since it opened in 1999. Since the 2012 tourist overhaul, GM has sponsored the attraction through its Chevrolet division.

History

The premise of the journey is to be a humorous view into the history of transportation, from ancient times the power of the feet, through time to the future. General Motors signed a 10-year sponsorship deal for the trip, in a move to compete with Ford (who has sponsored the Disney attraction created at the 1964 New York World Expo). The construction of the pavilion is part of the initial development of the EPCOT Center itself. The attraction was ready for the opening with the park on 1 October 1982, and was at the "opening" of the EPCOT Center. The pavilion was given a special opening ceremony with GM executives a few days later.

The trip was designed by the legendary Ward Kimball. This is the only attraction the animator has ever done. His humor proved in jokes like the sale of used trains, and the first traffic jam in the world.

Travel

The journey begins with u-modern raised porch located directly at the entrance to the building. The Omnimovers will then take the rider to a simple cave cave. However, it will lead to the first means of transportation: leg strength.

The second scene is presented into the earliest initial means of water transport, a person traveling by raft. The next scene shows the first time the animal's power is introduced. It shows a tablo Assyrian with someone who tries to control animals from camels to zebras.

The next scene shows the invention of the wheel in Babylon. A joke shows a man holding a square object, a triangular object, and an award-winning circle object. Before leaving, the rider passed a wheel factory, where everything, including the Trojan Horse, was trying to be sold.

The next scene is "Age of Flight". It started with Leonardo da Vinci and much of his effort to fly and next to him was a very angry Mona Lisa. The following scene is a man looking into London with a hot air balloon.

The next scene is the evolution of steam. It started with Mississippi Riverboat with a never ending stream of stagecoaches and like for Western Expansion. Steam locomotives are the evolution of subsequent steam trips, which in turn show authentic steam locomotives - and authentic railroad robberies.

The scene shifts to one of the most photographed and most remembered scenes: the world's first traffic jam. Chaos includes items such as angry horses, spilled ice trucks, and children shouting during the 1900s. Guests then travel through open scenes that include a man who bumps into a bicycle, a family picnic, and early 40s and 50s cars.

The following areas are "speed tunnels" that pay homage to tunnels in the Magic Kingdom "If You Have Wings." Omnimover runs through this bullet-shaped tunnel while the image is played on the screen. Some include plant dust, rafting, and traveling along the trail of snowmobiles.

Tunnel to the last exhibition: CenterCore, the city of the future is amazing. Just before loading and unloading, riders were asked to "help shape mobility tomorrow" with the same effect as Hitchhiking Ghosts of Haunted Mansion, riders at Omnimovers they seem to be the car of the future simulation.

TransCenter

Riders leave their Omnimover vehicle and go to TransCenter, which is full of exhibits and shows about transportation and the things that surround it. Need Innovation style for all that. The Transcenter World of Motion shaft, designed by award-winning designer Bob Rogers (designer) and the BRC Imagination Arts design team, offers educational sites including prototype cars such as Lean Machine in Dreamer's Workshop and a show called The Water The engine, which pitted nine animated characters associated with various alternative fuel systems in the debate in which motor designs should be used to drive the car. There is a replica of the only American wind tunnel on display. The most popular show "The Bird and the Robot", starring a toucan, Bird, and assembly line robot, Tiger, entertains people with action (and bad signs typical Bird) about the importance of GM's assembly line. A computer-generated screen shows a test of 'torture' of a GM car without actually doing it. The 2000 concept shows the prototype car making process for GM. The prototype concept car in TransCenter was once the most photographed place in Walt Disney World. An exhibit called Aerotest educated people about airflow on automated concepts and fuel economy. Another exhibition featured stylings of clothing with GM's advanced polyester style production.

Closure

The business slumped with General Motors after the second sponsorship deal ended for World of Motion in 1992, and as a result, GM began signing a 1-year contract for the trip. However, the suggested idea to clean the building and turn it into a new attraction is stuck with representatives of Disney and GM businessmen. It takes World of Motion, closes it, and burns it into a new journey that focuses solely on cars. Thus, World of Motion is closed to the public while a new attraction, called Test Track, takes its place. Scheduled to open 19 months after the closure of World of Motion, the new rides will put guests in test cars against the necessary vehicle tests to assume the car is safe for road trips. However, nothing went as planned, and the new trip opened significantly later than the scheduled opening date. On the final ceremonial trip of World of Motion, on January 2, 1996, it was broken. The GM executives who rode it had to climb out and walk back to the exit.

The closure of World of Motion forced the reopening of Horizons, another Disney attraction that focused on the family's future. It was closed in 1999.

Sponsorship Pavilion General Motors signed a 10-year sponsorship contract in December 1977. When the second contract was completed in 1992, and with a slumping economy, GM agreed only for a one-year contract and wanted Disney Imagineering to work on a new attraction. GM insists that the new journey will only focus on cars, as opposed to the general concept of transportation. The marketing department wants to promote their cars strongly. GM is the sponsor for all its charm.

Soundtrack

The theme song for the rides is "It's Fun to Be Free", written by X Atencio ("Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" from Pirates of the Caribbean and "Grim Grinning Ghosts" from The Haunted Mansion), and Buddy Baker, other legendary Disney composers. The song is played along the way (and the queue area) with the music being changed to reflect different time periods as the journey takes place through various scenes.

This song can be found on Disneyland and Walt Disney World (1991) Official Albums Official Album: Happiest on Earth Celebration - Walt Disney World Resort Album .
