Walton Raceway is a motorsport park off road vehicle located outside of Walton hamlet, part of the East Huron City in Huron County Ontario, Canada. On a 200-acre site that includes several ponds, wetlands, reforested areas, hardwood forests, hills and agricultural areas owned by the Lee family since 1965.
The race track began operating in the early 1970s as a home track for the Maitland Dirt Riders Club. During that period, motocross activities approved by the CMA were held. In the early 1990s the track began to host CMRC motorcycle racing.
In 1992 the concept of the multi-day Grand Grand Championship was held for the first time. It's modeled after the annual Loretta Lynn USA national championships held annually at Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Currently called the Canadian Transcan Grand National Championship. The TransCan is recognized as Canada's largest outdoor motocross Scheduled for August 15-19, 2012.
Walton Raceway has been a flagship location for television production since 1995 on TSN and later on Global TV, Sportsnet, FUEL TV, and ESPN2. A feature of Rick Mercer Report was broadcast on the CBC in 2009 where Rick Mercer was given a quick course on how to ride and then sent to compete with a group of young people.
Each year the Huron Tourism Association (HTA) recognizes members who have demonstrated leadership, creative inventions, partnership initiatives, community impact and excellence in the tourism industry. In 2011, after a nomination by the Municipality of Huron East, the Tourism Development award was presented to Walton Raceway.
In 2012 the family succession plan is done. Extensive and diverse activities include RC truck racing, mud trucks, closed truck racing, and Edge of Walton Challenge Course
