Mikeb302000: You call yourselves oathkeepers? Really?

All officers from seven uniformed services from the United States swear or affirm oath of office after commissioning. This is slightly different from the registration oath that asks members to read when they enter the service. This is required by law, the oath prescribed by Section 3331, Title 5, of the United States Code. It is traditional for officers to swear an oath on promotions but as long as service is continuous it is not necessary.

Text Oath

I, [name], swear by (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and faithfulness to the same; that I accept this obligation freely, without a mental reservation or avoidance purpose; and that I will do well and faithfully carry out the office tasks I will enter. So help me God.

The oath is for an unspecified period; no specified duration is specified.

National Guard officials from various countries, however, take extra oaths:

I mean, I swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the United States Constitution and the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) Constitution from ___ against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and faithfulness to the same; that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of the State (Commonwealth, District, Territory) of ___, that I make this obligation freely, without mental objections or evasion purposes, and that I will be fine. and faithfully carry out the Office duties in the National Army/Guard State (Unitary State, District, Territory) of the ___ I am going to enter, so help me God.

The assigned officer (O-1 (lieutenant or second base) via O-10 (general or admiral) and W-2 via W-5 (chief guard officer)) is assigned under the authority of the President of the United States with the advice and approval of the United States Senate ; the warrant officer (W-1) receives a warrant under the authority of the respective service secretary (for example, the Secretary of the Army or the Secretary of the Navy); National Guard officers are also committed to the authority of their country's governor. They can be activated in their country service in a local or state emergency in addition to federal activation. The backup officer can only be activated by the President of the United States.
