Sagi Haviv (born 1974 in Israel) is a graphic designer based in New York and a partner at Chermayeff & amp; Geismar & amp; Haviv. Called "magic logo" by The New Yorker, and "wunderkind" by Out magazine, he is famous for having designed trademark and visual identity for clients such as Library of Congress, Conservation International, John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, Harvard University Press, Milwaukee Art Institute & amp; Design, International Competition Tchaikovsky, Woman World Bank, as well as for brands such as Armani Exchange. and US Open (tennis).

Biography

Haviv was born in Nachshonim, Israel, where he spent his youth. He studied at Telma Yelin's high school art in Givataim. In 1996, Haviv moved to New York. He studied graphic design at The Cooper Union School of Art where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Haviv started his design career when he joined Chermayeff & amp; Geismar in 2003. There he created "Logomotion", a ten-minute award-winning graphic award for the company's well-known trademark, appearing in New York at Corcoran Gallery of Art (2003), in Washington, DC (2004). ), Ginza Graphic Gallery in Tokyo (2005), Centro in Mexico City (2006), and Pera Museum Istanbul (2007).

In 2006 he became a partner in Chermayeff & amp; Geismar, where he has since developed an institutional and corporate identity, print and motion graphics and art in architecture for diverse clients around the world. The Havivic motion graphic work includes the main title for the PBS documentary series Operator , and the PBS 2010 documentary Circus , and animated typography for the main show at Black Ball Alicia Keys 2009 for Keep A Child Alive.

In 2011 he co-authored his colleagues, Tom Geismar and Ivan Chermayeff book Identification: Basic Principles of Identity Design in Iconic Trademarks of Chermayeff & amp; Geismar . This book is published by a printed print magazine trail (ISBN 978-1440310324).

In 2013, Haviv's name was added to the company's 56-year-old masthead, Chermayeff & amp; Geismar and it is known as Chermayeff & amp; Geismar & amp; Haviv.
