Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) is a provider of American technology and remote controllers, IoT devices, and home sensors. The company designs, develops, manufactures and delivers good products under the "One For All" brand and as an OEM for other companies in audio video, subscription broadcasting, connected homes, tablets and smart phone market. By 2015, it is expanding its product and technology platform to include home automation, intelligent sensing and security.
UEI global headquarters is located in Santa Ana, California, but has regional offices in Enschede (The Nederlands), Manaus (Brazil), Hong Kong, Bangalore (India), San Mateo and Carlsbad (California), and Twinsburg (Ohio).
By 2014 UEI ranks 80th in Forbes's list of "America's Best Small Company."

UEI is one of the largest remote controllers in the world, responsible for about 30% of the global market share in home entertainment remotes. Acquisitions
In February 2009, UEI purchased all Zilog & amp; IP assets associated with the Zilog universal remote control business, including all ROM codes, software, and infrared code databases. Zilog sells these assets for $ 31 million in cash.
In August 2015, UEI strengthened its position in the smart home market by acquiring Ecolink Intelligent Technology, a wireless home security and automation specialist. In May 2017, UEI expanded its smart home offerings by acquiring RCS Technology, a pioneer in smart thermostats and energy management.
